Enviroshake offers protection from strong winds & hurricanes
With unsurpassed wind uplift resistance, Enviroshake products withstand Category 5 hurricane-strength winds of up to 180 mph or 290 km/h.
- Miami-Dade County NOA # 24-0222.06
- Passed and exceeded the High Velocity Hurricane Zone TAS 125, resisting wind speeds up to 180 MPH (290 km/h)
Enviroshake offers Protection from the sun
Enviroshake uses the latest in UV inhibitor technology utilizing HALSs (hindered amine light stabilizers) that provide excellent light and effective ultraviolet light protection for installs demanding high light stability as well as outstanding long-term protection.
Rest assured that your Enviroshake roof is crafted to thrive in high-UV environments and you will not experience excessive fading or UV degradation over time.
Enviroshake products have been tested by the Canadian Construction Material Certification (CCMC), a third-party laboratory to the ASTM (American Standard Testing Method), for G-53 UV Exposure, ASTM D1149 Ozone Resistance, and ASTM G155 Accelerated Weathering (5000 hours) and passed all these tests.
In addition, Enviroshake roofs also undergo less heat transfer than natural wood shakes.
A beautiful roof that saves you money on cooling bills—no wood shake can do that
We enhanced our superior proprietary formulation with inorganic reflective pigments to create Envirocool®, a highly engineered cool roof product with Enviroshake’s unmatched quality and benefits.
The coolness of a product is measured by the Solar Reflectivity Index (SRI), which measures solar and thermal emittance. To be considered a cool roof, a product must have an SRI greater than 19. The higher the value, the cooler the roof. Envirocool products have an SRI of 31, and custom colour Bermuda White roofs have an SRI of 80.9!
Envirocool roofs can provide savings on household energy costs by up to 30% by reducing the need for air conditioning and can even extend the life of cooling equipment!

Enviroshake offers protection from fire
Class A ASTM E108 fire-rated products available, suitable for use in high-risk fire zones
Enviroshake offers protection from salt spray
Seawater has no effect on the major components of Enviroshake, as it was determined that inorganic salt has no effect or is inert with all Enviroshake’s components. Following third-party salt spray testing, not a single Enviroshake sample showed any signs of cracking, spalling, or other forms of deterioration.
Enviroshake offers Protection from moss, mold, and mildew
Enviroshake products are not susceptible to mold, mildew, fungus, rot, or insect infestation, as our proprietary formulation includes fungicides. Further, Enviroshake allows less than 2% moisture absorption—even in hot and humid climates—so mold, mildew, and algae does not thrive on Enviroshake roofs.
Enviroshake offers an eco-friendly alternative
Enviroshake products are made from 95% recycled materials, and the runoff water is non-toxic and completely safe for potable use.
Enviroshake offers impact protection
Enviroshake has achieved the highest impact test rating available (level 4, UL2218), making it extremely durable and able to withstand foot traffic, falling tree branches, and even golf balls.
Enviroshake offers Longevity & lifetime cost savings
Enviroshake is maintenance-free and complemented with a limited lifetime warranty that is fully transferable. No more re-roofing or repairs!

Following the passage of hurricane Irene it was apparent that the winds, some of which were gusting up to 120 mph had resulted in some considerable damage to numerous roofs. I am happy to say that the Enviroshake roof we installed on Bay Street was not one. The product maintained its integrity throughout the storm, both resisting the force of the wind and effective barrier against almost pressurized wind borne rain. In no small part can the success of this property to resist the elements throughout the hurricane attributed to the consistent quality performance of the product.

Just to let you know that the jobs we did in Anguilla with Enviroshake didn’t move with hurricane Gonzalo, where wind speeds exceeded 200 km/h (124 MPH).
- Gilles Parisot, Owner-Manager, EXPERT ROOF, St-Martin FWI
When asked how his property faired during Hurricane Erica, 15 inches of rain fell in 11 hours however, but no leaks at all through the roof shakes!

…Congratulations on how well the Enviroshake held up on Hamilton’s house. At my house on Tortola we experienced up to 200mph gusts - difficult to deal with that!”
- Jon Osman, Architect BVI discussing his clients whose residence withstood 200 MPH winds during Hurricane Irma
…Even though we lost a few shingles they obviously live up to their reputation as being the best product for hurricanes.
- Paul Hamilton, Batu Residence BVI, whose residence withstood 200 MPH winds during Hurricane Irma
We are in the Old Fort Bay community, would be happy to show you the project the next time you’re in town. We could not be happier with the product and how well it has performed. The eye of Hurricane Matthew passed within 12 miles of the house in 2016 and we never lost a shingle.
