Corpus Christi Monastery of the Poor Clares, Rockford, IL

Located in Rockford, Illinois, the Corpus Christi Monastery of the Poor Clares includes a beautiful chapel built in 1926, a brick enclosure wall, and multiple wings. The entire building is just under 10,000 sq ft.

In October of 2021, the Harrington & Sons Roofing and Construction team completed the installation of a multi-tone Enviroslate roof on the monastery. The project used four colours of custom brown to emulate the tones of a natural slate roof. This material is one of the safest, most durable roofing products available. It installs with less waste than natural slate and it is 1/3 the weight.

St. Elizabeth Seton Parish, Ridgefield, CT

St. Elizabeth Church in Ridgefield, Connecticut, was built in 1979, in the shape of an equilateral cross. The Elite Construction Solutions team installed our Aged Cedar Enviroshake on the church, covering 14,000 sq ft.

“We designed the additions and renovations of the church. As the existing wood roof was starting to have problems, I suggested Enviroshake as a long-term solution and aesthetically equivalent to wood. We specialize in ICF construction (insulated concrete forms) to give our projects centuries of life vs. decades. Therefore, using a synthetic roof was appropriate for longevity and storms. Enviroshake meets the challenge.” -Leigh Overland, Principal Leigh Overland Architect LLC
