How to Prepare for Hurricane Season

The summer of 2024 is expected to bring an above-average chance of major hurricanes. If you live in a hurricane state, now is the time to ensure your household is prepared for hurricanes in the months ahead.

With such a high threat to states like Florida, Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Louisiana, we’ve compiled a list of four things you can start doing today if you reside in one of these states to help prepare for a hurricane:

  1. Develop an evacuation plan for everyone in your household, including pets. Plan several routes and destination options.

  1. Stock up on necessary supplies like non-perishable food, water, flashlights, and battery powered chargers.

  1. Ensure you have flood insurance. Home insurance usually doesn’t cover flooding and flood damage. Talk to your insurance provider to make sure you have the best coverage for the worst-case scenario.

  1. Strengthen your home. Trim trees on your property, install storm shutters, and check your roof for any compromised areas. A reliable roof is one of the strongest lines of defense in protecting your home during a natural disaster.

Enviroshake has passed the High Velocity Hurricane Zone TAS 125 and resists wind speeds up to 180 MPH (290 km/h). Such speeds are greater than the winds of a category 5 hurricane! The standard high velocity testing acceptance as well as most other synthetic products are rated to only 110 mph. Enviroshake requires NO special install processes to achieve its 180 mph wind resistance.

Additionally, Enviroshake has been awarded a Class 4 Impact Rating (UL 2218) – the highest impact rating available.
