Whimsical Aesthetic Meets Sustainable Building Materials

Designed by Reigo & Bauer, this one-of-a-kind contemporary home is located in Toronto, Ontario. Our Enviroshake material wraps both the sides and roof of the single-family home.

The natural tones of the Aged Cedar Enviroshake contrasts with the bright pink stucco that surrounds the main entryway, articulating the point of arrival and paying homage to the homeowner’s Mexican heritage. Our product was meticulously aligned with the windows to make a precise grid that is restful on the eyes. To elevate the form well beyond its humble starting point, the architectural designers angled the sculptural roofline, so that the building appears to be either rectangular or triangular in plan, depending on how it is seen.

This LEED-silver structure goes well beyond aesthetics. The passive ventilation, lack of mechanical air conditioning and use of our recyclable cladding underpin perhaps the most important perceptual shift in the house — that a whimsical aesthetic can also be highly sustainable.

Enviroshake takes pride in limiting its environmental footprint at every step. Manufactured from 95% reprocessed post-industrial polymers, elastomers, and fibers, Enviroshake is a fully sustainable product.

Through superior engineering, Enviroshake proudly offers industry leading performance, durability, and longevity, backed by a fully transferable lifetime warranty for up to 50 years.
