Colour: Enviroshake Inc. is pleased to offer various color options to emulate a natural cedar roof. Enviroshake is available in classic silvered cedar, aged cedar, or multi tone. All Enviroshake products will weather, and as with cedar, there will be slight variations in shading and thickness of the shakes, giving the product a natural look on the roof.

Contour: The exposed surface is striated for the first 10” up from the butt end on Enviroshake, and the first 6″ up from the butt end on Enviroshingle, and is flat and smooth to the tapered end of both products. The underside of the shake is flat with hollow ribbed recesses. The butt ends are uniform in appearance.

Dimensions: Enviroshake® comes in widths of 12”, (pre-molded 4”- 8”, 8”- 4” and 6”- 6” profiles) each with a length of 20”. Each shake is tapered and measures approximately ½” at the butt end and narrows to approximately 1/8” (resembling a taper-sawn cedar shake). The shakes are bundled with white or green strapping bearing the Enviroshake® script, labeled, and shrink-wrapped on skids (7 square/70 bundles per skid) for shipping. Each bundle contains 13 pieces of varied profiles. There are 10 bundles to a “Square”. Ridge caps are a 12” wide one-piece shake, custom formed to the specification of the roof slope and are packaged in bundles of 10 pieces using white or green strapping bearing the Enviroshake® script.

Enviroshingle® comes in widths of 20”, (2 pre-molded profiles) each with a length of 12”. Each shingle measures approximately 5/16” at the butt end. The shingles are bundled with white or green strapping bearing the Enviroshake® Inc. script, labeled, and shrink-wrapped on skids (7 square/70 bundles per skid) for shipping. Each bundle contains 14 pieces of varied profiles. There are 10 bundles to a “Square”. Ridge caps are a 12” wide one-piece shingle, custom formed to the specification of the roof slope and are packaged in bundles of 10 pieces using white or green strapping bearing the Enviroshake® Inc. script.

Enviroshake/Enviroslate Coverage: 1 square covers 100 square feet at a 9″ exposure. The minimum slope is 2/12. The maximum exposure is 9”. There is no limit on the maximum slope. Installing Enviroshake at a 7” exposure add 18% more material.

Enviroshingle Coverage: 1 square covers 100 square feet at a 5″ exposure. The minimum slope is 2/12. The maximum exposure is 5”. There is no limit on the maximum slope.

Installation: Normal code requirements must be applied regarding material standards, fastening, and flashing at intersections when installing Enviroshake® Inc. roof covering in a roof covering system. The use of a synthetic underlayment eliminates the need for interweaving between courses. Regular 1 1/2” (minimum) galvanized or non-corrosive roofing nails may be used: Stainless steel nails are recommended. We recommend using a power nailer with coated coil nails. Always refer to the Enviroshake® Inc. Installation Guides as the reference document and prior to starting any installation.

Weight: Enviroshake® and Enviroshingle® weigh 260 lbs per Square.
